Bhutan Cultural Exchange

The mission of Bhutan Cultural Exchange is to foster awareness and understanding of diverse ideas that connect communities and lives through the exchange of cultural practices and values.  Our efforts are dedicated to supporting projects, events and happenings that underscore the values of loving kindness and the possibilities afforded by an appreciation of Gross National Happiness exemplified by the country of Bhutan.

Bhutan Cultural Exchange came to life through the inspiration of one of our board members who visited Bhutan in November of 2016 and again in the spring and summer of 2017.  With the Venerable Karma Namgyel Rinpoche as host and guide during the first two visits, Kathleen Kiefer, Joe Bryant, and Gene Colburn captured images of some of the people, places and colorful life ways of the Himalayan Mountain Kingdom known as the land of the Thunder Dragon. Bhutan is a land of immense beauty, kind and gracious people, a deep and abiding Buddhist tradition, and a landscape that expresses untold stories.
